I titled this ‘Current Project(s)’ because yes, I am working on more than one right now. This is a topic that is rather controversial amongst writers. 99% of the time, people choose one thing to work on and devote all their energy to that specific task. This sounds fantastic, and I do wish that I could be one of those people.
However, I am part of that 1% that would rather have at least two separate things to write about at the same time. Why you ask? Because it allows me to work over a longer amount of time continuously. If I have at least two projects that I can bounce between, it prevents me from getting burned out. If I start to get stuck or tired while working on one, I can take a short break and switch gears. This allows me to keep my mind fresh. Whenever I choose to come back to the first project I can look at it with a clean slate.
With that being said, I would like to talk about these current projects:
#1 ‘Break Free My Heart — Musings of an Emancipated Soul’
This poetry book will serve as the sequel to Time and Love Blurs All . My debut poetry book explores the losses and loves of the last several years of my life. On the other hand, this sequel will cover the freedom I am experiencing in my life, the exhilaration I feel from being my true self, and everything that I have had to let go of to get to this point.
I am currently about a quarter of the way done with writing this manuscript. I am also working with a very inspirational and special individual to create the illustration for the cover of this book. While I don’t have an exact date at this time, I am hoping this collection will be ready for publishing in the next few months.
#2 ‘Apocalyptia’
While poetry has always been near and dear to my heart, it has forever been my dream to write fiction. Throughout the years, I have been inspired by countless works and authors. In all that time, I started writing many books and had many great ideas. Recently I have once again found the motivation to pen a piece of fiction, and I have dedicated myself to this pursuit.
I am currently conducting research and have commenced writing the first pages of ‘Apocalyptia’. It is a science fiction novel set in the year 2072. A terrorist attack involving an EMP destroys the technological advances of the United States. Scarlet Morevo and Willow Taylor are separated during the attack. Will they ever be reunited? How much are they willing to sacrifice for love?
I will be providing more updates as the writing process continues, and I look forward to sharing the release dates soon.
Happy Friday Jr. Everyone!
